Long Lead-Time RFP

Ontario’s electricity sector continues to see a growing demand into the 2030s and beyond due to increasing industrial demand, data center growth and electrification. To meet these needs while maintaining flexibility, the IESO has taken a multi-pronged approach to secure energy and capacity resources under various term lengths.

Recent procurements have focused on securing medium term and long-term resources with 5- and 20-year term lengths respectively. The Long Lead-Time Request for Proposals (LLT RFP) is intended for eligible resources with unique development considerations that require longer lead times for project development and longer-term lengths, aligned with the expected resource lifetime.

The latest draft documents for the LLT(c) RFP and the LLT(e) RFP can be found below. The IESO intends to post draft LLT(c) and LLT(e) Prescribed Forms in Q1 2026.

Schedule your early deliverability discussion

The IESO is offering early deliverability discussions with interested proponents of the Long Lead-Time RFP. These discussions will provide an opportunity for prospective proponents to share information regarding projects and ensure the IESO can provide pertinent connection information to support proposal submissions.
