The IESO is engaging on the proposed Long Lead-Time Request for Proposals (LLT RFP). This procurement is part of the IESO’s broader Resource Adequacy Framework – an enduring approach to identifying the type of acquisition activity to use to resolve system needs. The framework contemplates a multi-pronged approach to secure resources, generally based on the length of the contract term.
The LLT RFP engagement plan outlines the objectives, approach, timeline and considerations for engaging stakeholders and conducting outreach to other targeted audiences throughout the development of the procurement This engagement plan may be subject to review and updates as the process evolves.

The IESO will share insights from the RFI responses and discuss considerations related to the design of a long lead time resource procurement to help inform the report back to the Minister of Energy and Mines.
