The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) is launching a Request for Information (RFI) as part of its ongoing efforts to address Ontario’s growing energy supply needs. This initiative is important for understanding how existing facilities and potential new projects can contribute to a reliable and cost-effective electricity system in the future. The RFI will gather insights from resource owners and the developer community, focusing on the future of existing facilities and the development of new projects.
This RFI is aligned with the Resource Adequacy Framework, which the IESO has developed to meet Ontario’s supply needs through a variety of procurement tools. By engaging with stakeholders, the IESO aims to better understand the long-term plans of existing facilities, the challenges they face, and how new projects can be integrated into future procurement plans.
Your participation in this RFI will be key in helping the IESO shape procurement strategies that support both regional and provincial energy planning, ensuring a resilient and efficient electricity system for Ontario.
Please Note: This RFI is not intended to be part of or related to the Registration Process for the second Medium-Term Request for Proposals (MT2 RFP).
