Forecasting and Planning
The IESO has launched engagement for the North of Dryden Addendum Study. Due to emerging growth in the North of Dryden sub-region a local electricity infrastructure study has been initiated to address emerging local needs to ensure a reliable supply of electricity that supports local growth and economic development.
The North of Dryden sub-region generally includes the area extending northward from Dryden to the towns of Ear Falls, Red Lake, Pickle Lake, and surrounding areas. This study will be included as an Addendum to the Northwest Integrated Regional Resource Plan (“NW IRRP”) that was originally published in 2023.
Regional electricity planning takes a 20-year outlook on every region in the province. The planning process provides an opportunity for communities to tell the IESO about anticipated needs and priorities and to contribute to the development of the options for meeting this region’s future electricity needs.
All interested parties are invited to participate in this engagement initiative and may include but are not limited to:
Northwest Technical Working Group - The Technical Working Group, consisting of the LDCs in the region, the local transmitter and the IESO, will use this regional planning engagement initiative to consider input to develop Addendum Study for the sub-region. All comments and enquiries about this engagement initiative can be directed to engagement@ieso.ca.
