Operability Assessment

 

 

The IESO’s 2019 Operability Assessment evaluates the IESO’s ability to effectively and reliably operate the IESO-controlled grid (ICG) under multiple scenarios based on expected changes to the ICG by year 2025.

The assessment projects how real-time operations will be impacted by the changing technologies and resources within Ontario’s power system (both transmission- and distribution-connected). It also identifies and recommends changes to the ICG design or market mechanisms, processes and/or tools to address any operability concerns.
