This engagement update provides a snapshot of all active IESO engagement activities and is updated on a monthly basis. It helps support a greater understanding of linkages between engagements, and a foundation for more comprehensive and integrated updates.
The IESO will discuss and solicit feedback on transmission planning considerations, including the engagement roadmap, the role of transmitters, and the evaluation of technical designs.
The IESO will discuss feedback received following the May session and present recommendations for the 2024 Capacity Auction Enhancements. This includes discussion on the enhancements related to Reference Price and Virtual Zonal Limits in Niagara and West zones.
The IESO will present the final evaluation of the IESO York Region Non-Wires Alternatives Demonstration. Funded by NRCan and IESO, and delivered by Alectra, the Demonstration took place from 2019 to 2024 and showcased how market-based processes could be used to operationalize a project where distributed energy resources (DERs) are used as non-wires alternatives (NWAs) in addition to supporting the bulk system. The webinar will discuss the results of the local capacity and local energy auctions, performance of participating DERs, an illustrative cost-benefit analysis, participant feedback from interviews, and recommendations for future programs.
