IESO Annual Cold Weather Preparedness Survey for Generators and Transmitters

In preparation for the upcoming winter season, the IESO is conducting a cold weather preparedness survey with generation and transmission facilities. Extreme cold weather conditions can cause operational issues that may impact the IESO’s ability to operate the grid reliably. The information provided through the survey will assist in preparations to achieve reliable grid operations during the upcoming winter season. An email with a survey link will be sent out directly to impacted market participants.
The IESO is requesting owners and/or operators of generation and transmission facilities to complete this year’s survey by December 1, 2023.
More information on the IESO’s Winterization Guidelines for generation and transmission facilities can be found in the IESO Winterization Guidelines Document. Please note that the IESO is working on updating the guideline and will post a new version once it is available.
