LT1 RFP: May 3 Technical Meetings and May 4 Engagement Meeting

On May 3, the IESO will be holding two Technical Meetings related to the LT1 RFP:

  1. The first meeting will be led by the IESO’s Transmission Planning team, and will focus on the Deliverability Process. Specific topics discussed will be: eligibility, roles and responsibilities, test scope, test outputs and test schedule.
  2. The second meeting will be led by the IESO’s Engineering Studies Department, comprising:
    1. Connection Assessment and Approval Process: Specific topics discussed will be the SIA and CIA process, Market Authorization and Registration, facility commissioning and performance validation.
    2. Hydro One Connection Process: Specific topics discussed (by HONI representatives) will be Pre-consultation, the Connection application process, Preconstruction (including the CIA, Connection estimates and Cost Recovery Agreements), Design and Build (including Requirements, Cost, and Schedule), and Post-construction/Pre-Energization (including the Transmission Connection Agreement)

The IESO expects both of the above Technical Meetings to be most relevant to members of the development community, including business developers, technical staff, and regulatory staff. Interested participants can register now by clicking “register” on the Long-Term RFP engagement web page.

On the following day, May 4, the IESO will host its second engagement webinar on the development of the LT1 RFP. In this meeting, the IESO will provide a summary of feedback received in relation to areas of the design highlighted at the previous engagement, accompanied with IESO responses. The Ministry of Energy will then present on Duty to Consult provisions being considered for the LT1 Contract. To conclude the meeting there will be discussion on other areas of the LT1 RFP/Contract design the IESO will be seeking feedback on.
