IESO Issues Letter of Non-Compliance and Imposes Sanctions on Hydro One Networks

On December 15, 2022, the IESO entered into a settlement agreement with Hydro One Networks Inc. (“Hydro One”) in respect to an event that occurred at the Hydro One-owned Bowmanville Switching Station that resulted in the H2 bus operating without protection for approximately five months, without incident.
The IESO determined, and Hydro One has acknowledged, that there were four breaches of the Market Rules. Hydro One obtained no benefit from the event. To resolve the matter, Hydro One agreed to pay a financial penalty of CDN $1 million plus applicable taxes. More details can be found on the IESO’s website.
