IESO President and CEO Thanks Hydro One, Utilities and Sector Partners for Restoration Efforts

Last Saturday’s storm caused the most significant damage to the power grid that we’ve seen in years, leaving hundreds of thousands of customers without power. Hydro One and local utilities have been doing an incredible job on the ground restoring power to many communities. Efforts are continuing in Ottawa, Uxbridge, Peterborough and elsewhere to repair the damage done.
On behalf of the IESO, I want to thank all of the individuals at Hydro One and local utilities who have been working around the clock. I also want to thank IESO staff for your efforts to support restoration, balancing supply and demand, and coordinating with Hydro One as transmission infrastructure was brought back into service. To our transmission-connected customers who lost power, thank you for your patience as you were reconnected to the grid. And to our generators, thank you for coming on- and off-line as needed to keep the grid stable.
