IESO Seeking Feedback on a Voluntary Clean Energy Credit Market in Ontario

The Minister of Energy has asked the IESO to assess options for the design and introduction of a voluntary provincial Clean Energy Credit (CEC) market in Ontario. The IESO will deliver a report back to the Minister by July 4, 2022, with the goal of launching in early 2023.
To ensure that customer preferences inform the IESO’s report, an engagement webinar will be held in February to seek feedback on key considerations for a CEC market in Ontario. This session will provide an overview of the Ministry request including the engagement and project plan, as well as background on CEC markets and key concepts.
