Application window opens for new Indigenous Energy Support Programs

After several months of direct engagement with Indigenous communities and organizations, the IESO has refined and relaunched its suite of Indigenous Energy Support Programs. These programs include the Community Energy Champion, Indigenous Community Energy Plan, Education and Capacity Building, and Indigenous Energy Projects programs. These promote broad, equitable participation in Ontario’s energy sector by supporting community capacity building including – energy planning and renewable energy project development, as well as the building of energy knowledge and awareness, and skills related to energy projects.
In a detailed review of the programs this year, the IESO heard that the programs needed more flexibility, wider scope, reduced barriers to participation, more capacity building and greater support. Applications to the updated programs will be accepted until November 13. For additional information, please visit the IESO web site.
