National Indigenous Peoples Day

June 21, 2018

National Indigenous Peoples Day is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

The IESO is committed to working with Indigenous Peoples to drive meaningful change for long-term economic, environmental and social well-being of communities and their residents. In recent months, the IESO has engaged extensively with Indigenous communities across the province to shape a recently launched, enhanced suite of energy support programs and to refine conservation programs to better align with community-identified needs and priorities.

Read a message from Terry Young, Vice President of Policy, Engagement and Innovation, on how Indigenous energy leadership is helping to create a robust, reliable, and sustainable energy future for all Indigenous Peoples in Ontario here.
