Industrial Conservation Initiative update

The base period for the Industrial Conservation Initiative (ICI) ended on April 30, 2018. Eligible customers will receive their peak demand factors from their local distribution companies, or alternatively from the IESO for transmission-connected customers, by May 31, 2018. The deadline to opt in (for customers with an average monthly peak demand of less than 5 MW) or opt out (for customers with an average monthly peak demand of greater than 5 MW) of the ICI is June 15, 2018. The adjustment period, during which customers will be billed as Class A, will begin on July 1, 2018, and end on June 30, 2019. The base period for the next adjustment period that will start on July 1, 2019, began on May 1, 2018.
Participants in the ICI pay the global adjustment based on their percentage contribution to the top five peak demand hours in Ontario.
