Changes to the Dispatch Deviation Report

July 28, 2016

The Dispatch Deviation Report is intended to give Market Participants an indication of when the IESO is manually intervening in the output of the Dispatch Scheduling and Optimization (DSO) in order to produce valid dispatch instructions. Since the report was created, its scope had expanded to also include inputs to the DSO. A finding from the recent DSO external audit performed by Price Waterhouse Coopers notes that the inclusion of inputs to the DSO is not considered to be a manual intervention on the part of the IESO. In response to this finding, the IESO will be removing the Constrained Dispatches row since it is not reflective of an after-the-fact alteration of the DSO outputs. This change will take effect with the publication of the July 2016 Dispatch Deviation Report by August 8, 2016.
