Three Reliability Standards available for review
January 8, 2015
PRC-005-4 Protection System, Automatic Reclosing, and Sudden Pressure Relaying Maintenance
This standard requires applicable entities to document and implement maintenance programs for all protection systems, and automatic reclosing and sudden pressure relays affecting the bulk electric system so that they are kept in working order. This applies to transmission owners, generator owners and distribution providers.
The deadline is May 10, 2014 to apply to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) for a review of this standard.
· EOP-011-1 Emergency Operations
The purpose of this standard is to ensure that applicable entities have developed and coordinated operating plans to mitigate operating emergencies on the bulk electric system. This applies to the balancing authority, reliability coordinator and transmission operators.
The deadline is May 8, 2014 to apply to the OEB for a review of this standard.
· PRC-026-1 Relay Performance During Stable Power Swings
The purpose of this standard is to prevent protective relays from tripping unnecessarily due to stable power swings during non-fault conditions. This applies to the planning coordinator, generator owners and transmission owners.
The deadline is May 6, 2014 to apply to the OEB for a review of this standard.
The standards have been posted on the OEB Review of a New or Amended Reliability Standard section.
