Updated Loss Penalty Factors to be Implemented on January 19

December 23, 2010

New Loss Penalty Factors will be implemented on January 19, 2011. The new values are available on the Loss Penalty Factors engagement webpage. See item, "Proposed Loss Factors", updated December 23, 2010.

Loss Penalty Factors represent the transmission losses associated with each resource (generators, loads and intertie connections). Transmission losses occur naturally when moving power from one point to another due to such factors as heating, energization and magnetization. The loss penalty factors are used in both the pre-dispatch and real-time constrained sequences. Additional comments can be sent to engagement@ieso.ca.
