Updated Stakeholder Engagement Plan on Loss Penalty Factors now Available
January 28, 2010
The stakeholder engagement plan on loss penalty factors (SE-40) has been updated and is now available on the website. Updates to the plan include a February 4 deadline for stakeholder feedback on options to effectively manage loss penalty factors. These options were discussed at the January 21 webcast and are available for review on the above web page. Comments on these options can be sent to engagment@ieso.ca.
Loss penalty factors represent the transmission losses associated with each resource (generators, loads and intertie connections). Transmission losses occur naturally when moving power from one point to another due to such factors as heating, energization and magnetization. The loss penalty factors are used in both the pre-dispatch and real-time constrained sequences.
