This engagement update provides a snapshot of all active IESO engagement activities and is updated on a monthly basis. It helps support a greater understanding of linkages between engagements, and a foundation for more comprehensive and integrated updates.
The Market Assessment and Compliance Division (MACD) of the IESO will present proposed amendments to Chapter 3 of the Market Rules. The purpose of these proposed changes is to modernize and clarify rules related to some of MACD’s enforcement processes, including confidentiality and how it handles disputes under the IESO Dispute Resolution Process. Stakeholders will have an opportunity to provide feedback and seek clarification ahead of IESO Technical Panel review of the proposed market rule amendments.
The IESO will present the proposed final program documents and discuss details regarding the launch of the Small Hydro Program which is targeted for December 2023. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to ask questions and review how feedback was incorporated into the design prior to the program launch.
IESO will provide an update on the Transmitter Selection Framework development, which the IESO is undertaking in response to the July 10, 2023 Letter from the Minister of Energy. This webinar will include an update on the proposed engagement plan and will describe the planned engagements set to commence in the new year.
The IESO will continue discussions with Capacity Auction participants and stakeholders on the details, benefits and objectives of future enhancements, including feedback received from the previous engagement session. The IESO will also present analysis on participant performance from this summer's June Capacity Auction tests and July emergency activations.
