A new regional planning cycle is underway for the Hamilton sub-region, and an Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP) has been completed following a community engagement initiative.
This engagement initiative provided interested parties with an opportunity to offer input for consideration into the development of the IRRP.
Interested parties included but were not limited to:
Municipalities including the City of Hamilton, which includes the communities of Hamilton, Flamborough, Dundas, Ancaster, Glanbrook, Binbrook, Waterdown, and Stoney Creek
Indigenous Communities including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and Six Nations of the Grand River
Local distribution companies who serve the community including Alectra Utilities and Hydro One
Transmitters
Consumers and services providers for the area
All interested parties are invited to participate in this engagement initiative.
Hamilton Technical Working Group - A Technical Working Group consisting of the local distribution companies in the region, the local transmitter and the IESO will use this regional planning engagement initiative to consider input that will identify and meet local electricity needs. The Technical Working Group consists of representatives from the LDC in the area – Alectra Utilities, as well as the transmitter Hydro One Networks Inc., and the IESO.
IESO appreciates the participation in this engagement initiative. Subscribe to receive updates for this planning region (“Burlington to Nanticoke”) here
