Non-Emitting Resources Subcommittee

The MRWG established a Non-Emitting Resource Subcommittee (NERSC) to support the overall understanding MRP and its impacts on this particular resource group. The work of the subcommittee focused on two phases; Participation, and Market Efficiencies.

In Participation, the group explored resource participation in Ontario’s current market design and identified barriers that may limit participation in the future market.

Market Efficiencies entailed a modelling exercise that explored how market prices might react under a range of scenarios, how future markets may interact, and what opportunities may exist for resources to compete to meet system needs.
