Opening Remarks
Katherine Sparkes, Senior Director, Emerging & Demand-Side Resources
Katherine will provide an update on the IESO's focus on innovation, supporting activities, and how they are helping to support Ontario's future needs and a more cost effective electricity system.
This new engagement will seek input on the development of an integrated plan that will outline the sequencing, timing and scope of activities to be undertaken by the IESO to enable the participation of existing electricity resources in the Ontario wholesale market. At this meeting the IESO will share the highest priority projects and timing needs and seek stakeholder feedback on draft conclusions.
Hybrid Integration Project
The IESO will discuss a new engagement designed to identify participation model(s) to enable hybrid resources in the IESO-administered markets (IAMs) and have the capability to support Ontario's future system needs. At this meeting the IESO will share and seek stakeholder feedback on the proposed schedule and scope of activities and draft definitions for co-located and hybrid facilities.
This month's Resource Adequacy webinar will include a brief discussion of the mid-term framework mechanism and what needs it will seek to satisfy. The IESO will also provide further details on administrative enhancements planned for the 2021 Capacity Auction and present a draft scope for a review of the hourly demand response baseline methodology.
The second session of this engagement will provide an update on phase one, with the focus being on phase two. This will include a more detailed overview of the advisory notice framework and operating states, questions for stakeholder consideration, request for input from stakeholders as well as timelines.
