Area Overview

The Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge/Guelph region is located to the west of the Greater Toronto area in southwestern Ontario. The region includes the City of Guelph, the Region of Waterloo including the municipalities of Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, and the townships of Wellesley, Woolwich, Wilmot, North Dumfries, as well the Townships of Mapleton, Centre Wellington, Puslinch, and Guelph/Eramosa in Wellington County, and the Township of Blandford-Blenheim in Oxford County.

The 2026 KWCG Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP) has been posted along with the IESO’s response to feedback received following the June 10 engagement webinar.
