Forecasting and Planning
Regional planning for the Burlington to Nanticoke electrical region was completed in November 2024. This engagement initiative provided Indigenous communities, municipalities, customers and interested parties with an opportunity to offer input for consideration into the development of the 2024 Burlington to Nanticoke Integrated Regional Resource Plan. A Regional Infrastructure Plan (RIP) led by Hydro One will be initiated next, as part of the regional planning process. The ongoing Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph electricity plan will determine the end point of the new lines and stations from Brant/Powerline station to Middleport-Detweiler circuits. Lastly, the Hamilton addendum will kick-off in 2025 with updates being shared on this webpage.
Technical Working Group - The Technical Working Group, consisting of Alectra Utilities Corporation, Burlington Hydro Inc., GrandBridge Energy Inc. (Formerly Energy+ and Brantford Power), Hydro One Networks Inc., Oakville Hydro Inc. and the IESO will continue to stay in touch on the implementation of recommendations and the timing of the next regional planning cycle. To stay informed on future electricity planning activities for this region, subscribe to receive updates on Burlington to Nanticoke.
