Forecasting and Planning
The second cycle of regional electricity planning for the Renfrew region was completed in December 2022, with the release of an Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP). A Regional Infrastructure Plan (RIP) led by Hydro One will be initiated next, as part of the regional planning process. This engagement initiative provided communities and stakeholders with an opportunity to offer input for consideration in the development of the IRRP.
Regional electricity plans take up to a 20-year outlook on every region in the province. The planning process provides an opportunity for communities to tell the IESO about anticipated needs and priorities, and to contribute to the development of the options for meeting this region’s future electricity needs.
Interested parties that were invited to participate in this engagement initiative and may include but are not limited to:
Renfrew Technical Working Group - A Technical Working Group consisting of the three LDCs in the region (listed above), the local transmitter, Hydro One Networks and the IESO will use this regional planning engagement initiative to consider input that will help to inform the development of an Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP) for the region.
Additional details on the IESO’s plans to engage communities and interested parties throughout the process are outlined in the engagement plan.
All comments and enquiries in this engagement initiative can be directed to engagement@ieso.ca.
