2026-2028 IESO Business Plan Positions Ontario’s Electricity System for the Future

Ontario’s electricity system is evolving rapidly as demand continues to grow. The IESO’s 2026–2028 Business Plan outlines how we will continue delivering the reliable, sustainable, and affordable electricity that Ontario ratepayers rely on. The plan focuses on accelerating the development of new electricity infrastructure, and delivering on the IESO’s expanded mandate while taking a prudent approach to align organizational priorities with the government’s vision of the energy sector as a driver of economic growth.
Following concurrent approval of the Business Plan by the Minister of Energy and Mines, the IESO will be submitting the approved plan to the Ontario Energy Board as part of its rate filing.
