This engagement update provides a snapshot of all active IESO engagement activities and is updated on a monthly basis. It helps support a greater understanding of linkages between engagements, and a foundation for more comprehensive and integrated updates.
The IESO will provide an overview of the draft engagement plan and an introduction to the main design elements of the 2023 Capacity Auction enhancements.
The IESO will provide an update on the implementation of the non-wires-related recommendations from the Regional Planning Process Review engagement completed in May 2021.
A key focus will be the recent Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP) non-wires alternative (NWA) analysis changes, further to the update provided in October 2021. As part of this session, the IESO is seeking stakeholder feedback on the methodologies now used to consider and evaluate non-wires alternatives in IRRPs, including demand profiling and the feasibility, sizing, and economic assessment approach.
The IESO will provide an overview to market participants on how to make-whole payments account for the unique characteristics of hydro-electric generators in the renewed day-ahead and real-time markets.
