What is the Indigenous Energy Projects Program?

The Indigenous Energy Projects (IEP) Program provides support for supply-side solutions that contribute to cleaner, more reliable and more affordable energy systems for First Nations and Métis communities and organizations.

This program includes three areas of focus:

  • the assessment and development of renewable energy projects
  • the assessment and development of partnerships for renewable energy projects and transmission projects
  • innovative supply-side solutions relating to the IEP Program objective

Who is eligible?

First Nation and Métis communities and organizations in the province of Ontario can apply for funding. See the Program Guidelines for more details.

Funding is not provided to individuals. Joint applications for a shared single project may be submitted by two or more eligible applicants.

Retroactive funding may be available for eligible applicants. Please contact us for more information.
