Ensuring Reliability and Supporting Economic Growth for Greater Toronto Area East Region

The Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP) for Greater Toronto Area (GTA) East region has been finalized, detailing implementation-ready recommendations to meet demand and ensure reliability of the electricity system in the GTA East region in the near-term while outlining considerations to be studied in future planning cycles.

Looking ahead, the IESO and Technical Working Group will continue monitoring electricity demand, system performance, and regional developments through regular reviews and annual meetings. This adaptive approach will help guide future planning and ensure the electricity system remains reliable, affordable, and responsive to the region’s evolving needs.
