2026 Capacity Auction Pre-Auction Report Now Available

The 2026 Capacity Auction Pre-Auction Report containing updated parameters such as the reference price, firm target capacity, and zonal limits has been published via the IESO Reports website. This year’s Capacity Auction is targeting 1,800 megawatts (MW) of capacity for the 2027 summer obligation period and 1,200 MW of capacity for the 2027/28 winter obligation period.
On September 10, the Capacity Qualification Request submission window will open. Capacity suppliers interested in participating in the 2026 Capacity Auction should begin the market registration process as soon as possible.
