Celebrating Energy Efficiency Day
October 2, 2025
Since its launch in 2011, Save on Energy has supported more than 621,000 electricity customers in Ontario to take over 80 million energy-efficiency actions, saving nearly 20 TWh of electricity – equivalent to powering two million homes for one year. These efforts have helped Ontarians manage their energy costs and have strengthened business competitiveness and the grid.
As Ontario’s electricity needs grow, energy efficiency will continue to play a vital role in meeting future demand with reliability, affordability, and sustainability. As the IESO moves forward with ambitious plans to build a significant amount of new supply and transmission infrastructure, it is also expanding Save on Energy programs through a 12-year, $10.9-billion funding commitment from the Ontario government.
