Ontario's Integrated Energy Plan Outlines New Actions to Prepare for Signficant Growth of the Province's Electricity System
June 12, 2025
A significant amount of new generation, storage and transmission is needed to meet Ontario’s growing needs. On Thursday, June 12, the Ministry of Energy and Mines released its Integrated Energy Plan — "Energy for Generations: Ontario’s Integrated Plan to Power the Strongest Economy in the G7" — a multi-faceted approach critical to ensuring Ontario’s electricity grid remains reliable, affordable and sustainable well into the future.
The plan also serves as an important roadmap for the work that lies ahead — bringing together sector partners across all fuel types and collaborating with Indigenous, municipal and industry leaders — to ensure our energy systems are inclusive, more efficient and able to serve as a catalyst for economic growth.
