2024 Capacity Auction Offer Submission Window and Post-Auction Report Reminder

The 2024 Capacity Auction offer submission window will open at 9:00 AM EST on November 27 and close at 11:59 PM EST on November 28. The Capacity Auction will be relied upon to procure a greater amount of Ontario’s resource adequacy needs this year with an increased summer target capacity of 1,600 MWs and winter target capacity of 1,000 MWs. Organizations that have completed the capacity qualification process can offer up to their qualified unforced capacity amount within the offer submission window via Online IESO.
The IESO will publish the results of the 2024 Capacity Auction via the Post-Auction Report on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Successful Capacity Auction Participants will also be issued a private Post-Auction Report with the capacity obligations for each of their Capacity Auction Resources, made available through the IESO Participant Reports site.
