Indigenous communities are partners and leaders at the forefront of the energy transformation and momentum is building across the country to ensure their inclusive and equitable involvement in energy projects.
National Indigenous History Month is a time to celebrate these contributions. It is also a time to reflect on Canada’s history of colonization to broaden our understanding of Indigenous experiences, perspectives and challenges.
Common understanding of the past is essential to creating a better future and the IESO is committed to building relationships based on trust and respect, which can only come from first listening, learning and understanding.
