Evolution of IESO's Annual Planning Outlook and Annual Acquisition Report

The IESO is launching an engagement on the evolution of its publication of annual planning and acquisition reports to respond to recent policy announcements. To present a more complete picture of reliability needs and planned actions, the 2023 Annual Acquisition Report (AAR) will be integrated into the upcoming The Annual Planning Outlook (APO). The APO will be released in the first quarter of 2024 and include analysis reflecting the provincial government’s Powering Ontario’s Growth and the draft Clean Electricity Regulations. The IESO is considering how to further evolve these products and streamline the content.
This engagement will seek feedback on how to structure future reports to better serve the needs of stakeholders and communities. In addition, the IESO will provide an overview of feedback received to date on the AAR and how this will be incorporated into future products.
