IESO Reliability Outlook: Ontario Electricity System Prepared Through 2024
September 21, 2023
Ontario’s electricity grid is prepared for the next 18 months, with sufficient supply expected to be available to meet the needs of residents, businesses and communities.
While the IESO is not currently identifying adequacy shortfalls, it will need to monitor outage scheduling for the period between April and August 2024 to ensure Ontario remains within the reserve above requirement level under both normal and extreme weather scenarios. Sufficient reserves should be available for winter 2023-24.
The IESO’s latest quarterly Reliability Outlook is now available: Fall Reliability Outlook.
