Interruptible Rate Pilot - Final Documents Posted and Application Period Opened

March 16, 2023

Final documents for the Interruptible Rate Pilot (IRP) have been posted to the engagement page and the Application Period has been opened. Also posted are blacklines of the Pilot Rules, Contract, Contract Cover Page and Standard Definitions, so that potential Applicants can review changes compared to the draft versions of the documents.

The pilot is expected to help provide large electricity load customers with an interruptible rate for Global Adjustment charges during the pilot term in exchange for agreeing to interrupt demand during interruption events as identified by the IESO. The pilot aims to provide a system benefit in the form of peak demand reduction, which may contribute toward grid efficiency, and a reduction in consumer costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

The Application Period ends on March 31 at 11:59:59 pm EPT. Instructions for how to submit an Application can be found in the Pilot Rules and the Application Form.
