Improving Awareness of System Operations Conditions

The IESO is implementing a number of changes to the RSS feeds to improve communications to allow market participants to better prepare their operations to respond to extreme weather events or grid interruptions.
Users will notice new elements on the RSS feed and advisory messages. The revised advisory notice framework and new operating states will provide greater clarity on situational awareness when specific market participant actions may be needed to support system reliability. These changes are expected to take effect in late June.
An Interim Market Document Change outlining the changes will be posted by June 13 to the Pending Changes web page. Draft market manuals were previously shared through the related stakeholder engagement and with the Technical Panel.
