The IESO is pleased to announce new executive leadership appointments: Carla Y. Nell as the Vice-President of Corporate Relations, Stakeholder Engagement and Innovation, and Chuck Farmer as the Vice-President of Planning, Conservation and Resource Adequacy.
These appointments will take effect on August 30 and help the IESO continue to ensure the reliability and cost-effectiveness of Ontario’s electricity system.
In her role, Carla will apply her extensive experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors to provide the IESO with strategic leadership in the areas of communications, stakeholder engagement, government relations, and innovation, and managing and enhancing all relationships on behalf of the IESO. Most recently, Carla served as the President and CEO of the Burlington Chamber of Commerce and Vice President, Municipal and Stakeholder Relations at the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.
Chuck will lead the planning of Ontario’s electricity system. This includes assessing the future adequacy of Ontario’s electricity supply and the transmission system, identifying system needs, and securing the resources needed to meet system needs, including through the advancement of conservation efforts. Chuck has held a variety of senior roles at the IESO and Ontario Power Authority in the areas of Power System Planning, Conservation and Corporate Relations.
Leonard Kula will continue in his critical role as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the reliable and efficient operation of the province-wide power system, the administration of Ontario’s real-time electricity markets and the continued development of electricity market designs.
Please join us in welcoming Carla to the IESO, and in congratulating Chuck on his new role.
