Improving Awareness of System Operating Conditions Engagement - Two New Advisory Notices Now in Effect

Two new system advisory notices for market participants came into effect June 1. These changes are part of phase 1 of the engagement that will enhance situational awareness for market participants and stakeholders when the potential for stressed system conditions are more likely to occur. When issued, the new notices, a Severe Weather Alert and a Capacity Margin Alert, can be found on the Day 1 to 34 Advisory Notices Summary web page. Participants can subscribe to receive these notifications via the RSS feed at the top of the advisory notice summary page.
This enhancement as well as message details can be found in the April 22 presentation for this engagement. The engagement is currently in phase 2 where the goal is to provide greater clarity on situational awareness when market participant actions may be needed.
