New study explores value of energy-efficiency solutions in the greenhouse sector

Energy-efficient lighting alone could save Ontario’s greenhouse sector as much as 230 to 550 gigawatt-hours a year – resulting in cost savings for growers and reducing demand on the province’s electricity system. The newly released Greenhouse Energy Profile Study, produced in partnership with Enbridge Gas and the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers, explores the role of energy-efficiency strategies – like Save on Energy’s Retrofit Program – in supporting sector expansion and addressing accelerating demand.
