Launch of energy storage design project engagement

The IESO is launching an engagement to develop the design for how storage will be able to participate and operate in IESO-administered markets (IAMs). This engagement will help identify the necessary updates to market rules and IESO tools and processes that would enable storage to compete in IAMs and to move towards a technology neutral marketplace.
Operating through the existing forum provided by the Energy Storage Advisory Group, the IESO is launching an engagement to seek feedback on the development of a design for how storage will participate in the IAMs. The first meeting will be held in downtown Toronto on October 28 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., and will review the scope, objectives and expected outcomes of the engagement, and seek feedback on design questions, the engagement plan and a work plan.
