London Area Electricity Planning: Draft Scoping Report available for comment
July 16, 2015
A draft Scoping Assessment Outcome Report (Scoping Report) that outlines the regional electricity needs has been posted at London Area. The communities and stakeholders are invited to review the document and provide comments.
As identified in the Scoping Report, the London region was divided into five sub-regions:
- Capacity and load restoration needs were identified in the Greater London Sub-Region and an Integrated Regional Resource Plan (IRRP) is being developed to address them,
- Supply capability limitations were identified in Alymer-Tillsonburg Sub-Region and will be addressed through the Regional Infrastructure Planning process, which will be led by Hydro One,
- Local planning between affected local distribution companies and Hydro One Transmission will address needs in the Strathroy Sub-Region and Woodstock Sub-Region, and
- The St. Thomas Sub-Region requires no further planning at this time.
The Scoping Report contains the Terms of Reference for the IRRP and Regional Infrastructure Planning process, including the objectives, scope, data requirements, Working Group members, accountabilities, deliverables and timelines.
Please submit all comments on the draft Scoping Report and the draft Terms of Reference to ontarioregionalplanning@ieso.ca by July 29.
