This engagement update provides a snapshot of all active IESO engagement activities and is updated on a monthly basis. It helps support a greater understanding of linkages between engagements, and a foundation for more comprehensive and integrated updates.
The IESO will present key findings of the 2021 Annual Planning Outlook (APO) and provide stakeholders with an opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and provide feedback on areas for improvement of future outlooks. Opening remarks will be provided by Chuck Farmer, Vice President Planning, Conservation and Resource Adequacy.
The IESO will inform stakeholders of key priorities identified as part of the feedback received on the 2021 AAR and provide an additional opportunity for feedback. The IESO will discuss plans for evolving future AARs and the present the engagement plan for the Long Term RFP.
The IESO will provide a recap of the DER Market Vision and Design Project and discuss stakeholder feedback received following the October 2021, engagement webinar. Timelines and deliverables associated with the DER Market Vision Project will be provided, and the meeting will include a presentation from the Electric Power Research Institute focused on how U.S. jurisdictions are complying with FERC Order 2222.
The IESO will discuss stakeholder feedback received following the December meeting, and present “day-in-the-life” for the foundational hybrid facility models and seek stakeholder feedback on the same.
The IESO will inform Market Participants (MPs) about an additional operating state of system operating conditions to improve operational awareness and to allow MPs the opportunity to plan and prepare their operations accordingly, and minimize risk to reliability and enhanced grid resilience. The IESO will present on key changes since the previous engagement webinar, held in April 2021, including the introduction of a new operation state. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on what actions they may take if this new operation state is declared.
