IESO Imposes Sanctions on Melancthon Wolfe Wind LP

On June 1, 2026, the IESO entered into a settlement agreement with Melancthon Wolfe Wind LP (“MWWLP”) in relation to its failure to comply with NERC reliability standards that required it to timely submit verification data concerning the Real Power capability and the Reactive Power capability of two registered generation facilities owned by MWWLP. The failures gave rise to four breaches of the Market Rules. The non-compliant conduct occurred between February 8, 2024, and July 22, 2024. The settlement was reached through the Expedited Resolution Program administered by the IESO’s Market Assessment and Compliance Division. The IESO has issued an order finding MWWLP in breach of the market rules. As part of the sanctions imposed for the breaches, MWWLP is subject to a $18,000 financial penalty (plus applicable taxes).
