Indigenous Energy Support Program 2025 Application Intake Window Opens

The Indigenous Energy Support Program (IESP) application intake window is open. All First Nation and Métis communities and organizations are invited to apply.
This program provides funding for projects that develop Indigenous energy knowledge, skills and expertise; foster economic development; and facilitate Indigenous participation in major energy projects.
Funding has been increased this year by $10 million, bringing the total annual funding amount to $25 million. Eligible projects have also been expanded to include battery energy storage systems and transmission connection studies alongside a new stream to help remote First Nation communities reduce their reliance on diesel.
