Whitefish River First Nation Case Study - Save on Energy First Nations Community Building Retrofit Program
July 10, 2025
Through Save on Energy’s First Nations Community Building Retrofit Program, communities can receive funding to retrofit band-owned facilities with a wide-variety of energy efficiency measures. One community that has benefitted from this program is Whitefish River First Nation, that installed energy efficient lighting in 14 community buildings, including the community’s water treatment plant, administrative building and public works garage, among others.
Thank you to Joey Nahwegahbow, the Community Energy Champion for Whitefish River First Nation, for helping bring the project to life.
