COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program webinar for utilities on new settlement form
July 9, 2020
Announced June 1, 2020, the Ministry of Energy Northern Development and Mines is launching the COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) to provide a one-time, on-bill credit to eligible residential electricity and natural gas customers to ensure that consumers’ electricity and gas services are not disconnected for nonpayment during the COVID-19 pandemic. CEAP is administered and settled by the IESO for the electricity distributors (LDC) and unit sub-meter providers (USMP). LDCs and USMPs will process CEAP residential applications starting July 13, 2020 and submit the new online settlement CEAP form to the IESO monthly starting August 1, 2020.
On July 27 at 10 a.m., the IESO will host a webinar to provide an overview of the new online settlement submission form for CEAP. Registration is online.
Full program details, including eligibility criteria, are available online. Details about the $8 million CEAP for small business are expected later this summer.
