This engagement update provides a snapshot of all active IESO engagement activities and is updated on a monthly basis. It helps support a greater understanding of linkages between engagements, and a foundation for more comprehensive and integrated updates.
The IESO will discuss a proposed amendment to the design of the Intertie Offer Guarantee (IOG) to improve wholesale market efficiency. The IESO has determined that IOG payments are being issued when the reliability need is not present in the real-time.
The IESO will provide an overview of the proposed correction to the formulas in Economic Operating Point (EOP) Market Rules and related tools to ensure continued accuracy and consistency of Real-Time Make Whole Payments (RT MWP). the IESO has identified a specific RT MWP scenario in which RT MWP are paid inaccurately. This scenario is related to the interaction between de-rates and RT lost cost (LC) EOP for PSUs.
The IESO will provide materials in advance to enable discussion on the Contract Draft #1, the draft AC functional requirements, and an update to the engagement. The draft IEPP Discussion Document and feedback form are available on the engagement webpage for stakeholder review and feedback.
