Intertie Trading Subcommittee Webcast - June 21, 2006

The IESO has identified a situation where an intertie trader may receive less revenue for an import transaction than they might anticipate.
To discuss this further, we have arranged for a webcast on Wednesday June 21, 2006 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (EDT).
Background:
The lower than anticipated revenues result from the interaction of the existing formulations for the day-ahead and real-time intertie offer guarantee payments. Further explanation of this issue, including examples, can be found in a presentation made to the Technical Panel yesterday: http://www.ieso.ca/imoweb/pubs/tp2006/tp187-Presentation-DA-IOG-and-RT-IOG-C-Off-Events.pdf.
At this point, we have not recommended a rule amendment to address this issue. At this session of the Intertie Traders Subcommittee we will further explain the issue and explore possible means of avoiding the above circumstances (e.g. see slide 11 of Panel presentation) and next steps. In the meantime, if you have questions, please contact your Customer Relations Account Manager. Although this is short notice, the topic is
potentially significant and was viewed by both the Technical Panel and the IESO as warranting immediate discussion.
